The Barn
When we brought Coldgate Mill, in 1992, the Barn was a tearoom, which we ran for
several years. In the Autum of 1994, we set about the major task of transforming the tearoom
into holiday accommodation, opening to our first guests in September 1995.
The property is largely as it was at the time of the renovation.
The accommodation comprises of: -
- One double Room
- One twin Room
- Shower Room (there is no bath) with toilet.
- Kitchen, dining and sitting area.
- tility Room with washing machine (there is no dryer)
Being in a rural location and a deep valley The Barn has no broad band, limited
terrestrial TV and radio. Mobile phone service is patchy (O2 appears to be best).
The lack of these modern facilities is reflected in the price, £450.00 per week.
For simplicity we only have one tariff throughout the year, as the heating and
lighting cost are very high in the winter months.
The property is largely open plan, and is not suitable for pets.
Diana and I manage the gardens and the cleaning, it is therefore not possible
to offer back-to-back bookings.
We are not open Christmas and New Year, as we tend to go away.
